Return Windows

Non-sale items may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of shipment or purchase date. Final sale items, including clearance and discontinued products, may be returned within 10 days of shipment or purchase date.

How to Start a Return

To start a return, contact us at info@marksdancewear.com or call (515) 270.0744. If your return is accepted, we'll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Condition of Items

All items must be unworn, with original tags attached, and in their original, resalable packaging. Please do not tape or label the product packaging directly — if the packaging is damaged, the item cannot be accepted for return. Laundered items cannot be returned.

Shoe Return Requirements

  • Try shoes on both feet on carpet, a towel, or a dance mat only — never on hard floors
  • Keep all packaging clean and intact
  • For returns, always place the shoebox inside a separate mailing container — do not ship the shoebox alone

Pointe Shoe Return Requirements

Pointe shoes may only be returned if they are completely unworn and unaltered:

  • No sewing of any kind — no ribbons, elastic, or darning
  • No marks on the sole or shank
  • No visible wear of any kind
  • Original box or bag must be placed inside a separate mailing container for return

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances:

  • Undergarments and tights
  • Makeup and beauty items
  • Final sale and clearance items
  • Gift cards

Damages and Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. Reach us at info@marksdancewear.com or (515) 270.0744 and we'll make it right.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get what you need is to return the original item and, once the return is accepted, place a new order for the replacement. For time-sensitive exchanges, contact us directly and we'll do our best to help.

Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If the return is due to an error on our part, we will provide a prepaid return label. Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

In an effort to reduce waste, we encourage customers to reuse original packaging when returning items.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll notify you of approval. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned items and will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow an additional 3–5 business days for the refund to appear in your account. If you paid with store credit or a gift card, your refund will be issued as store credit.

If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved and you have not received your refund, please contact us at info@marksdancewear.com.
